I am so grateful to share my healing YURT space with all the wonderful students, friends and clients I have met during my time in Dublin.

The YURT is in our garden at the top of Howth village nestled among the trees next to the vegetable garden.

Sunrise classes allow for illuminous colours through the side walls of the space. Full Moon Restorative sessions hold a womb like feeling to the overall candlelit experience… Womans circle invite conscious sharing

Join me for a group class, a private healing class or transformative massage in the magical YURT. Weekly classes usually on Tuesday mornings at 9:30am

Suryalila resort offers a wide variety of accommodation to suits everyone’s taste and or budget. A number of room types have been chosen and reserved specifically for this retreat - varying from Eco Casas, a new white MiniDome, an option of 4 in the mini DORM room to the Deluxe double with en suite or shared bathrooms. Choice either to share a double, dorm or twin room, OR if you prefer to have a room to yourself there is a price option for single occupancy, which is of course more expensive.

  • All meals - Vegetarian / & Vegan options

All meals are served buffet style everyday. The food is gourmet Vegetarian and or Vegan and is scrumptiously healthy. Fruit, Tea and Coffee is available in the dining hall 24 hours a day. A water filtermachine is always available in the main Dining room and in the Dome Yoga hall. There is a small Amrita Cafe which sells Kombucha, Coconut water, chocolates, barista styled coffees and other cheeky treats if you need something extra during your stay. Please note that only pant based milks are offered and no sugar is used in any of the cooking.

One evening or early afternoon a sauna will be available. Bring your essential oils and enjoy the warmth of the wooded fire in the natural Eco friendly Cobb Sauna.

All the Yoga spaces are equipped with yoga mats, bolsters, meditation cushions, cork blocks, blankets, eye pillows and straps. All props are available to use throughout the retreat, so no need to bring your own.

All the YOGA will be based on structural, energetic, emotional, physical , mental and all over balance.

“Our feet work constantly to ground, support and carry the body. We can align everything from the feet:- our roots. The human spine moves in 2 directions - the force of gravity (waist down) makes it possible for us to extend the upper part of the spine (waist up)! Come and learn the importance of your feet: The deeper your roots connect and penetrate into the ground -the more aligned, straight and pain free you will stand.”

Precision in alignment and an understanding of how to execute a pose harmoniously is the basis for structural alignment, the overall health of the spine, holistic healing and longevity in Yoga practice. You will be guided in all postures and sessions with compassion and clear instructions.

FLAMENCO DANCE CLASS:-

A local Spanish Dance teacher will come after dinner one evening and offer a Flamenco Dance class in the ‘Om Dome’ or Ganesha Shala. Ladies bring your favourite flowing skirt and gentleman a wild colourful shirt!!

MINDFUL FOREST WALK & WATERFALL SWIM:-

One afternoon or morning we will escape to the magnificent forest for a mindful walk along the Majestic river in El Bosque, which is about 20 minutes drive from Suryalila. Experience a guided walk along the shady banks and then a cold dip in the natural rock pools and waterfalls from the mountains. The instant benefits of cold water therapy surrounded by the absolute beauty of the natural terrain is a must!

(The Flamenco dance class and Forest walk are pre-arranged but are not included in the quoted price. A variety of activities / excursions and tours are offered at a extra cost. Visit the list of extras on the website page. Examples include Massage, horse riding, wine tours:)

Come and join me for a special Friday evening New Moon celebration. We will flow slowly through some moon salutations (Heat, movement, Yang energy) Followed by restorative poses (Yin energy) to allow the work to settle and the clarity to arise.

The lunar cycle is a journey that constantly ebbs and flows, but its story always begins with the new moon. While the full moon is always intense and climactic, the new moon is a more gentle nuanced experience. Both phases of the moon are important to be aware of.

The new moon is what kickstarts a whole new chapter in your life, as it represents the start of something new. For example: if you start or begin the process of committing to a new project during a new moon, there’s a good chance it will reach completion or peak by the time the corresponding full moon takes place six months later. All the emotions and turning points that tend to occur during a new moon are often incredibly telling and can reveal what is in store for you next.

Conscious Rest moves the system towards peacefulness : deepening natural breath, slowing down the heart rate, reducing blood pressure issues, and relaxing all the muscles in the body. One can relieve fatigue, stress, anxiety and insomnia. Restorative asanas boost the immune system and encourage feelings of serenity and lightness throughout the body.

This 2 hour workshop style class will explore various restorative and relaxation asanas using props for ease and comfort. Details on the physical and energetic benefits will be delivered with clear instructions so that students can invite these postures into their daily self practice.

The workshop will end with a guided meditation.

Healing YOGA

Special Authentic YOGA classes are taking place in the village center as well as up at The Sacred Yurt @ the end of Green Hollows Quarry. Classes are suitable for everyone, no matter how new or established you are on your Yoga journey. When needed the room is heated to a comfortable temperature so we will feel at ease to move around and connect within.

I will provide bolsters, straps, blankets and blocks where possible. If you have any prefered yoga props please bring them along. The outside energies of the world are constantly shifting and can feel extremely heavy at times so it is vital that we keep out inner environment peaceful and as centered as possible.

Join Michelle for a mindful, meditative gentle yoga movement three times weekly in the local Community hall - Columbanus Hall in Howth Village.

YIN CLASS

Yin Yoga is a slower paced style of Yoga, where the poses are more restorative in nature and the postures are held for longer periods of time. Working fully with the Yin qualities of the practice, there is little action and more time to be self reflective and connect inside. Traditional styles of Yoga work with the balance of Yang (action) , and Yin (non-action). In Yin Yoga we are solely exploring the non-action of the whole and the experience of surrender and letting go.

Yin Yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective of the body—the tendons, fascia, and ligaments—with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. Often viewed as a more meditative approach to yoga, its goals are awareness of inner silence, and bringing to light a universal, interconnecting quality.

We will explore various static poses - using props for ease and comfort. When we hold the poses in a more passive fashion, we work deeper with the connective tissues, as opposed to the regular muscles used in more active styles of Yoga. This allows students to work deeply on the emotional healing level.

Respecting the laws of nature and flowing with an understanding of how to tailor the yoga practice according to the external cycles, encourages a greater opportunity for peace and harmony within.

Join Michelle for a fun, fluid, slow flow class on Sunday. The class will incorporate Moon salutations, some easy flow sequencing coupled with softness and reflection. Look forward to moving, maybe some dancing and flowing with you respecting the beauty of Lunar energy! The Full Moon falls on Tuesday the 16th, but the effects will be already in effect.

Come and join Michelle in experiencing the power of Twisting!! Manipulating the entire trunk in an aligned movement creates optimal space and mobility between the vertebrae. This increased mobility and space creation helps to relieve tension, tightness and unnecessary pain in the spine, especially in the lower back. Twists are an effective, natural and healthy way to cleanse and detoxify the inner digestive and reproductive organs. The ability to breathe naturally and into the entire abdomen is also improved through the action of twisting correctly.

In this workshop the important ingredients that make Twists beneficial and safe will be explained and experienced in depth. The ‘Twisting’ asanas work with the water element, and thereby aid our ability to discover our voice of clarity, feel our emotions and communicate our truth with integrity.

We will cover various floor and standing twists, with an emphasis on correct Alignment.

The Healing Power of Inversions

Want to turn your perception upside down, get rid of conditioned fear, allow your internal organs to restore and re-balance, and above all feel invigorated and rested?!

Join us in this 3 hour special workshop where we will explore many different inverted postures. Using props such as chairs, blankets, bolsters and blocks allow one to remain in the poses for long periods of time in a safe, comfortable and stable manner and really experience the benefits of going upside down.

Inverting has many physical , energetic and emotional benefits. It helps with removing tension in the neck and shoulder areas, and massages the internal organs. It helps us to overcome our fears and see things with a fresh outlook, as well as being very awakening and energetic.

Come have some fun, learn to relax upside down and see the world with fresh childlike eyes! We will do active inversions such as Handstands as well as restorative variations of supported Shoulder Stand and Halasana!

Synchronising with the theme of death and rebirth, this workshop will focus all energies in being in the heart space. To be human means living in the heart.

Backbends are the quickest way to fix imbalances or strong pains in the back. Practising Backbends increase overall health, longevity and mobility of the spine.

The specific movement and positioning of the spine creates necessary space, boosts confidence, improves postural defects, encourages natural breathing and can cure depression.

Opening across the front body and chest area can be invigorating, thrilling, and sometimes scary. The workshop space will ensure that the correct preparation is executed so that practitioners feel ready, held and totally supported.

Hatha Yoga principles will be explored in detail using both active and passive Backbends. Some postures will incorporate the use of props so poses can be held, with correct alignment, for longer periods of time and all benefits experienced.

Expect to bend and extend while also challenging old fears that may surface. Come and learn to soften into your boundaries and leave feeling totally alive!

Backbends

“Expansion across the front body and opening action around the heart can be described as invigorating, thrilling, sometimes overwhelming and maybe even scary.”

Practicing backbends is highly beneficial for the health, youth, mobility and integrity of the spine. The effect of space creation helps to improve natural breathing and improve one’s mental state of mind.

In this workshop we will expand upon the Hatha basics into heart opening and healthy spinal extensions using active and passive Backbends. Some postures will incorporate the use of props so poses can be held, with correct alignment, for longer periods of time and all benefits experienced. From simple postures to partner work in learning “Drop backs”.... we will cover many different spinal extensions.

Expect to bend and extend while also working through any fears that arise and revelling in feelings of excitement. Come and learn to soften into your boundaries in a safe and supported environment with an emphasis on alignment. You will leave feeling energised, open, alert and totally alive!
